Spotless, the TV show
This “..sexy and bold one-hour drama laced with dark humor…is the story of a troubled man, Jean Bastiere (Grondin) whose life is turned upside down when his outlaw brother, Martin (Ménochet), crash lands into his world. Played out against the backdrop of Jean’s Crime Scene Cleaning business, the brothers must confront dark sins of the past and very real dangers in the present.”
This is a scripted drama so while it does take place in our world of CTS Decon aka crime scene clean up aka biohazard recovery, it is still fiction and the show takes a lot of liberties with the actuality of our jobs.
For instance, we see Jean in his gear, blue Tyvek suit, gloves, respirator, and all. But did you notice that Jean has a beard? You can’t have a beard if you have to wear any sort of respirator because the seal-to-face will leak and let the wearer inhale hazardous particles.
Just like Cleaner with Samuel L. Jackson and Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt, Spotless gets a lot of things wrong but it does bring attention to our industry, and that gives us a chance to set things straight.
