Your Instructor

Michael J. TillmanMichael J. Tillman, CSHO, founded Amdecon in 1999. He has handled crime and trauma scene, meth lab, and hoarder property jobs across America, and has trained thousands of students in more countries around the globe than any other CTS Decon instructor.

After years of in-field work experience at hundreds of suicides, homicides, unattended deaths, and industrial accidents and fatalities, Amdecon’s founder, Michael J. Tillman, opened the world’s first dedicated CTS Decon Training center and created and held the industry’s first 5-day Decontamination Specialist Training Course in August of 2004, in Irving, Texas.

This training center was the world’s first training facility dedicated to the CTS Decon Industry and the first to use crime and trauma scene mock-up rooms using furniture, personal belongings, different floor coverings, different ceiling finishes, artwork, computers etc., using real brain tissue and blood to recreate a real-word scenario.

Everything was as real as the real thing gets, down to the stench and blood spatter patterns.

This 40-hour, 5-day course with real world mockups has since become the standard to meet.

In 2007 leading the field again, Mr. Tillman launched his world-wide distance learning courses for this industry. In an effort to help as many people as possible all around the world, he has closed down the traditional style training center and now only offers distance learning courses. He realized the more people he could train, the more people he could help. To date, he has taught thousands of students in over 25 countries, and all of those students are now helping families in their communities.

In addition to thousands of hours and years performing in-field work since 1999, Mr. Tillman achieved the title of Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) at the OSHA Training Institute Southwest Education Center (OTISEC), which is a member of The Texas A&M University System and one of only 26 OSHA Education Centers. Obtaining this certification was a five year process.
